I know that it's still cold outside but Spring has sprung!!  I think we should celebrate with another English Paper Piecing (EPP) 101 Class!  We've invited "The Master" of EPP, Jane Buys, to show us the "Zen" of this handwork.  She will be here on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 10:00a.m. to Noon to share her tips, experience and wisdom.  Check out our website for details and registration... Hope you can join us!!

Great things really do come in small packages!  Are you intrigued by small quilts but leery of those teeny-tiny fabric pieces?!  Jane Buys will be in our classroom on Friday, May 18th 10:00am - 3:30pm to help you "master the smalls" with this lovely Shaded-Nine-Patch quilt.  These small blocks are just 3 inches finished size!  She'll be sharing her tips and expertise to help you refine your piecing skills.  Class time will focus on the finer points to improve your accuracy in cutting, piecing, pressing and how to "set" the blocks.  Choose your favorite design layout and learn a bit about color value. Class suitable for comfortable beginners!  Check out our website for details and registration.

Paradox Point featuring Kaffe fabrics

Here is an update on one of our latest finishes - we paper pieced these arrows with a variety of Freespirit Kaffe Fasset fabrics and combined the vibrant colors with a solid gray Kona.  The texture added from the custom quilting by Nikki adds another layer of interest and quilting on solid fabric really shows off her stitching!

Our quilt is about half the size as the project detailed in the booklet by Sassafras Lane - you can pick your favorite arrows, make a cool throw pillow or two - or go all out and make a large project.  Foundation paper piecing is not for everyone, but it is the perfect way to get accuracy and detail as shown in these graphic arrow designs.

Despite all the recent news about Freespirit Fabrics - we still have plenty of fabric on the bolt available and it sounds like their won't be any break in the delivery of new goods under the new ownership.  We have several of the Freespirit designers fabrics featured including some of the latest collection designed by Kathy Doughty of Material Obsession.
