Change is good!

We moved a few bolts...okay maybe a lot of bolts around along with some of the fixtures and we think it's a big change for the good!  We're still fine tuning, but every new shipment and shop sample is a good excuse for a new display.  If you haven't been in lately, stop by soon and let us know what you think!  We've had a busy few weeks getting summer underway with a late anniversary celebration, shop hop and rowxrow now underway.

Suz has done it again - these sewing houses are pretty fun - you can mix and match and embellish all you want.  There is a place for your thimble, pins, scissors, etc. Just what you need to have on your sewing table?

Look at this cutie!  A travel iron that steams (these will be back in stock soon!) and a nice little case for it.  We have the ironing board fabric available by the yard so you can make a fresh new ironing board cover your your 'big' iron too if you need it!

We operate on the theory that no day is complete til there is some new fabric in the stash - how does that logic work for you?

Row by Row 2016

We are busy making our last minute preparations for the start of RowXRow tomorrow...Do you  have plans to tour quilt shops this summer and collect rows?  This is our 2nd year participating in this event, and we chose to interpret the Home Sweet Home theme into a view we see daily featuring Mt. Baker.

Mt. Baker Vista

We collaborated on our design - thanks to some early brainstorming by the DiJulio family and sketching and pattern testing by some of our other team members.  Quilting for this piece was done by Nikki Crisp and we think that added lots of impact.  We have kits available and of course, you can pick up the free pattern starting tomorrow!

And to round out the fun, we chose a favorite slogan for our license plate - and those will be available for the event as well.

Happy Anniversary!

Can you believe it...we are already into our 10th year in business!  That is pretty unbelievable even to me when I've pretty much lived here for the last 3,200 days give or take a few.

Thank you to all of our great customers, employees and friends who have shared in this journey along with a few bolts of fabric that have been shared amongst us.  We're celebrating with a SALE for now and we will eventually get to some of the other fun things we like to do, like an anniversary doll quilt and a fabric / quilt block related challenge...so we're going to make this anniversary really stretch and keep it going right into NUMBER 10.

Here's the scoop for now!  Hope you'll join us ~

Stitch Panel Challenge

Well...some of these need a closer inspection so stop by in June to see some of the details and get inspired to use up a panel!  We have a couple of stitch panels left for purchase, but these ideas just may get you inspired to use some orphan blocks and panel fabrics you have been storing too.

We opted to make a sewing machine cover that doubles as a table mat with pockets for your gadgets.  This was fun to put together although I recommend you do some measuring and planning before you start construction...you know, paint yourself into the corner right?!

2T Version
Here  are a few wall hangings that combine different blocks and panel sections - alot of possibilities when you start with black and white.  You can change up the style, flavor and mix and match in so many ways!

Some of the entries combine embellishing techniques and fun combinations - and one tote that serves a useful purpose....big enough to hold 50 fat quarters.  Now why would someone need to know that do you think?

Thanks so much for those of you who joined the fun, we appreciate your generous contributions of time and thought that went into your pieces, and for making a great display for us!
