Kelly created these great work aprons for gifts, and we had a little trouble parting with them - not only useful but great looking too - lots of pockets!

Amanda Jane Work Apron from Villa Rosa Designs
Some progress on our blocks...these will be set with some colorful reproductions on point so watch for more updates soon we hope.  This is currently a block of the month project for some of our customers, and we will be offering complete kits soon once we have our sample a bit further along.
Wish...Upon a Star completed Blocks
Some new additions to our basic collections, golds, greens and a bit o' cheddar.

Floral Gatherings by Primitive Gatherings from Moda
This quilt shows better in person I think - we downsized the project pattern from Marcus Brothers for a nice throw size quilt  - and the gorgeous red, black and tan border stripe takes the cake...would be a gorgeous addition to a strippy quilt or border for a dramatic finish.

We hope you are making headway on all those quilts and unfinished projects that have surfaced....we've heard about all kinds of goals and challenges and must finish lists!

Introducing Peace & Unity Civil War BOM

In late January 2014, we will kick off our newest  Civil War Block of the Month, Peace & Unity. Using fabrics designed by Judie Rothermel for Marcus Brothers Fabrics, the Homestead Hearth team designed the fifth, and final installment of the Civil War BOM series.

Peace & Unity
Check out the fabrics here!
The Peace & Unity quilt features bright blues, deep reds, pinks, and tans that together create a fresh take on traditional Civil War Era piecing.
At the end of 12 months, you will have created 12 feature blocks set together with a courthouse steps block design. Your completed Peace & Unity quilt will be 70" x 84."

Close up of  courthouse alternate block
Call, email, or stop in the shop to sign up today! The program lasts 12 months, and includes the pattern and materials for quilt top and binding. $18.95/month (pre-pay the final month at registration).

January rise and shine!

We just received these great cheery fabrics to get you up early and out the door, without any early roosters crowing!   Red roosters, polka dots, and toile backgrounds - perfect!

French Market
And a fun pincushion with pockets - the pattern is called "Sit & Stitch" and it's designed to fit over your armchair...no more losing pins and needles in the couch cushions?!  These fabrics worked up perfectly and it has been flying out the door.  We have some other great sewing themed prints and maybe you'll want something to blend in with the family room decor or wherever your favorite sewing chair resides?!

Sit & Stitch pincushion
Congratulations to the winner of the store gift certificate - Toni B.!!  The number of fat quarters we counted...that would be 4,237.  Exactly.  Some of you guessed far too few, and a few of you guessed far too many....but the closest number (3,850) was chosen by Toni - great guessing!!

We've been hearing from some of you about all the frenzy of 'finishing' that is happening - something about cleaning and organizing to get the new year off to a great start.  I love to get projects completed and when you start with some of those oldies but goodies that you left half done - you're so far ahead when you restart them!  Enjoy the process and stop by when you need a new fabric fix...we have lots of great things beginning to happen for 2014.

Happy Stitching!
